Personal Information
I, Nargiz Rahimova (daughter of Hasan), was born in 1981 in the city of Sheki. Perhaps that’s why I later decided to become a dentist.
Childhood Memories and Motivation
Like most people from Sheki, I had a lot of cavities as a child, and, like many kids, I was very afraid of dentists. After one particularly painful visit, I promised myself: I will become a dentist, but I will never cause pain to others.
Education
This dream led me, in 1993, to the Faculty of Dentistry at the Azerbaijan State Medical University. During those years, I grew to love my profession even more.
Start of Professional Career
By coincidence, in my 5th year, I began working at Azdent Dental Clinic as a dental assistant. The doctor I worked with was Khatir Makikli — a professional who practiced using the most modern methods in Azerbaijan. Working with him was both interesting and highly responsible.
A year later, I started working as a dentist in the same clinic. Since there was no pediatric dentist at that time, I mostly treated children. In the very first months, I realized that pediatric dentistry was my true calling.
Further Training and Courses Attended
To improve myself in this field, I participated in various courses:
“Endodontics with Bilge Hakan Şen”
“Modern Protocol of Aesthetic Rehabilitation” – Peshko A.A
“Predicting the Success of Aesthetic Restorations in the Anterior Region” – Peshko A.A
“Temporary Anchorage Devices” – Nejat Erverdi
“2nd International Conference of the Azerbaijani Society of Professional Orthodontists”
“Composite Beyond the Possible” – Morio Besek
My Professional Philosophy
Of course, first and foremost, I am a dentist. But my sincere love for children has always been a priority. Their trust in me is extremely important. In my view, the most crucial role of a pediatric dentist is not treatment, but prevention — stopping problems before they start. Teaching children to care for their teeth and helping them understand its importance is my main goal.
